The Great Physician

Have you ever prayed for healing in your body whether that was for sickness, disease, cancer or pain?
We know that God is the ultimate healer, and He is the great physician who we can call on when we are struggling physically. There are many miracles and healings that Jesus performed in the Bible.
Some that we read about in scripture is –
Jesus healed a leper (Mark 1:40-45)
Jesus raised the widow’s son from the dead (Luke 7:11-18)
Jesus cured a woman of an issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48)
Jesus cured the paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8)

As we are reminded in scripture it is only “By His wounds you have been healed.” Are you calling out to God by Faith for your healing? He bore our sins and made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross so that we could be made whole.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. - 1 Peter 2:24

The Lord heals all of us in different ways.
That may look like-
Through miracles
In response to prayer
Through time, but on HIS TIME
Christ brought us new life; He brought us healing by also taking our punishment and setting us free.

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. - Isaiah 53:5

God is not bound by the limitations of this world, He can heal you physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Do you have true Faith that the Lord can heal you right now? Jesus healed a paralyzed man because others had Faith, as we read in Mark 2:4-5
When you have friends and family that are covering you in prayer, the Lord sees their Faith. But do you have Faith as much as they do, or do you doubt God? Learn to trust God while you wait for your healing.

They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. 5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.”- Mark 2:4-5

God has all the authority and ability to heal you. It may not be instant, but He ask us to step into Faith and to trust Him knowing that He will heal just at the right time. If you have been praying to be healed, or praying for a loved one, trust that the Lord can do the impossible and that He has something even greater that He wants to accomplish. God is the great physician, for when we are weak, God’s power and strength can overcome any sickness, disease or illness.
“God says- for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9

When we are weak and want to give up, this verse reminds us that the Lord’s power is made perfect, which means that we have the strength of the Lord in us to keep going and to keep pushing through until we are healed. Sometimes the Lord can use our healing to move us closer to Him. Even if the Lord has not healed you physically, He has already healed you Spiritually by taking the punishment of your sin and setting you free from all bondage.

Continue to pray for healing, but also learn to be content with God’s decision. If the Lord chooses not to heal you in the moment you would like Him to, then look for ways you can minister to someone who may be facing the same thing. Jesus has the ability and willingness to heal you, but He does it on His time. Keep praying for that healing knowing that your Faith in Him is being pruned and strengthened.
