On Sunday, Kyndra talked about the importance of the Church and how each member must be committed to their role for the whole body to work effectively.
Do you start to get a little defensive when someone asks for a commitment of your time and resources? I know I sometimes do. So many things are fighting for our time and attention, I think it’s fair that we’ve become wary about who and what we give it to.
But who better to give it to than Jesus? What better commitment can we be part of than the body of Christ?
“I am the gate. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture. A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” - John 10:9-10
God wants you to commit to His body and He promises abundant life to flow from that commitment.
You don’t get that promise from anything else you commit to. Truthfully look at the things you’re committing to and look at what they produce. Some may be good and some may be bad, but either way, nothing will produce the abundant life that Christ promises.
We are willing to commit ourselves to things with lesser yields, so why not commit ourselves to THE Source of Life by choosing to be part of His body?
A commitment to the body of Christ is not one that will steal, kill or destroy you. It will actually produce a more abundant life than you could ever imagine!
Jesus is the gate. Enter through Him, join the flock and find abundant life today.
