Being able to have faith or remain faithful to the will of the Father can only be achieved through the spirit. We find throughout scripture to have faith in God. Our faith or fidelity can't fluctuate or be determined by our circumstances. It's based solely on Christ's ability to see us through and get us through our lives.
Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. Our ability to listen and obey builds our faith upon the solid rock. We can not fill our ears with the world and its lies and believe we will remain faithful. The eyes of the flesh will cause us to doubt and move outside the will of the Father. This will put us in a compromising position where it becomes easier to trust in a failing system than a faithful God.
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7
We must choose to deny our ability to see and focus more on hearing. The truth is what he speaks to us and since we know the truth makes us free, it will also keep us faithful to the true and loving God.
"fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith." - Hebrews 12:2a
You must keep your eyes upon him to remain faithful to him. Taking your eyes away from God allows our focus and trust to be in danger of being broken. Broken trust is hard to regain and the enemy's job is to get you to focus on what's not happening or what hasn't happened. But when you know the word of God will never return void, staying faithful and full of faith during the hard times will pay off in the long run. If he is faithful to us, we have what we need to remain faithful to him.
"So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." - Isaiah 55:11
