How can we hear God‘s voice in the midst of chaos and busy schedules?
Learn to sit in prayer with no distractions. The Lord wants us to have a conversation with Him, but we sometimes have to be still in order to hear Him clearly. Ask Him….
Lord, what are you speaking to me today?
Lord, what are some ways that I can glorify you today?
When we are still in the Lord’s presence, His peace begins to guard our heart and mind.
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7
We may wonder why we don’t have peace at times. It's because we can get so caught up in our everyday lives that we just forget to sit and let the Lord speak to us. When we take the time to truly listen to God's voice, it will shift our thoughts and distractions and bring in a peace of mind. While you begin to listen and be still, you can then meditate on God‘s presence. When we learn how to hear God clearly, we grow in obedience.
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10:27
The Lord’s voice is gentle and loving, it is never harsh. God doesn’t just speak to us through words, but He also speaks to us through scripture and worship. We are called to listen to His still small voice, but also obey to whatever it may be that He is calling us to do.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3
