When we have a grip of our own control, we tend to fall into the worldly things instead of the Godly things. We must learn to let go and let God do His plan in every situation and circumstance in our lives. Instead of trying to have control, allow God to strengthen you in Faith so that the control is fully released into His hands. We are all guilty of trying to control everything around us, but if we are so consumed by that control, then our Faith begins to slowly fade. Control and Faith cannot go together, but the more you let go and let God, the more you begin to grow and lean into the promises of God.
When we surrender control, we then can walk in true Faith with the Lord. Surrendering your control to the Lord is not a form of weakness, instead it’s a form of strength, where God’s goodness and peace can take place in our lives. If we have a grip of control, we can’t walk freely in Faith or in Joy that the Lord has given us. God is not distant in our lives, for He is already working all things for His good and glory, as His word says.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Romans 8:28
How do we let go of control?
We must be reminded that God’s plan will always prevail, no matter how much control we try to have. To walk in Faith instead of control, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus daily. Faith in God brings a peace of mind because we know that we belong to Him. During the moments of doubt and control, take the time to pray and surrender so that you can walk freely in your Faith.
“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”
Proverbs 19:21
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24
If we get bound with trying to control everything around us, we may miss out on the opportunities for our Faith to be strengthened. Having a tight grip of control can lead to fear, but God has given us a sound mind and peace in Him that never wavers. Learn to surrender and take every thought captive when control wants to take over. For everything is in God’s hands.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:7
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
2 Corinthains 10:5
